Driving directions - how do I get to the SeqMatic laboratory?
To reach the SeqMatic Laboratory at 48383 Fremont Blvd., Ste. 120, Fremont, CA 94538 from:
NORTH
From northern locations (such as Napa, Concord or Walnut Creek), the most direct route typically involves using I-680 South.
Driving Directions from the North
- Take I-680 South: Travel south toward San Jose/Fremont.
- Exit at Mission Blvd (CA-262 S): Take Exit 12 for CA-262 S/Mission Blvd toward I-880.
- Merge onto S/Mission Blvd: Continue west on Mission Blvd.
- Turn Left onto Kato Rd.
- Turn Right onto Warren Ave.
- Turn Left onto Fremont Blvd: The destination will be on your right.
Alternative Route (Via I-880)
If traveling from Oakland or San Leandro:
- Take I-880 South to the Auto Mall Parkway exit.
- Turn left onto Auto Mall Pkwy, then right onto Fremont Blvd.
- Continue south on Fremont Blvd until you reach the 48300 block.

From southern locations like San Jose or Milpitas, the most efficient route is via I-880 North.
Driving Directions from the South
- Take I-880 North: Follow I-880 N toward Oakland.
- Exit at Dixon Landing Rd: Use Exit 10-12 for Dixon Landing Rd in Milpitas.
- Turn Right onto Dixon Landing Rd.
- Turn Right onto Fremont Blvd: Follow Fremont Blvd north.
- Continue north on Fremont Blvd until you reach the 48300 Fremont Business Center commercial complex block over your left hand side.
- Arrive at Destination: The building will be on your left.
Alternative Route (Via I-680)
If you are coming from the East San Jose area:
- Take I-680 North to the Mission Blvd (CA-262 W) exit in Fremont.
- Follow Mission Blvd west toward I-880.
- Turn left onto Fremont Blvd and continue south to the 48300 block.
Public Transit Options
- BART: Take the Orange Line to the Milpitas Station. From there, you can take a rideshare or use the VTA Route 217 bus which connects Milpitas to Fremont.
- Bus: AC Transit serves the nearby area with stops at Fremont Blvd & Cushing Pkwy and Fremont Blvd & Haven Ave
EAST
From eastern locations such as Pleasanton, Sunol, or Livermore, the most efficient route is via I-680 South.
Driving Directions from the East
- Take I-680 South: Travel south toward San Jose/Fremont.
- Exit at Mission Blvd (CA-262 S): Take Exit 12 for CA-262 S/Mission Blvd toward I-880.
- Merge onto Mission Blvd: Continue west on Mission Blvd (CA-262 S) for approximately 1 mile.
- Turn Left onto Fremont Blvd: Follow Fremont Blvd south for about 1.5 miles until you reach the 48300 block. The destination will be on your left.
Alternative Route (Via Niles Canyon)
If traveling from the Sunol area and avoiding the highway:
- Take CA-84 West (Niles Canyon Rd) into Fremont.
- Turn left onto Mission Blvd.
- Continue south on Mission Blvd, then turn left onto Fremont Blvd
WEST
From western locations like Menlo Park, Palo Alto, or Redwood City, the most direct route involves crossing the Dumbarton Bridge (CA-84 E).
Driving Directions from the West
- Take CA-84 East (Dumbarton Bridge): Travel east across the bridge toward Fremont/Newark.
- Continue CA-84 E: Follow the signs for I-880/Fremont.
- Merge onto I-880 South: Take the ramp onto I-880 S toward San Jose.
- Exit at Dixon Landing Rd: Take Exit 10 for Dixon Landing Rd.
- Turn Left onto Dixon Landing Rd: Cross over the highway.

Where do I drop off my samples?
Sample drop-off is located at the back entrance of the SeqMatic Laboratory. Laboratory staff will receive your samples and provide signatures and receipt confirmations, just ring the doorbell. If in doubt, we can also help you at the front entrance.

Do I need a Purchase Order (PO) before I submit my samples?
Yes, you need a PO before you submit your samples for processing.
The PO should reference a valid SeqMatic quote number. This means that the first step is to generate a quote number and you can do this by submitting a service quote on the SeqMatic “Get a Quote” page.
How do I submit a Sample Submission Form?
- Submit a digital version of your Sample Submission Forms at this email address: samples@seqmatic.com
- Remember to include a printed version of your Sample Submission Form with your shipment. Attaching a copy of the form to your shipment is critical for avoiding delays with sample processing.
Sample Input Information (Cells or Tissues)

Are all cells or tissue sample formats accepted by SeqMatic?
Yes, the SeqMatic laboratory can extract and isolate DNA or RNA from any sample format. A variety of tissue samples and sample types, including from low to high throughput are accepted:
- Animal/Plant tissues
- Cells
- Whole Blood/Plasma/Serum
- Soil
- Fecal specimens
- Environmental samples
- FFPE or Frozen
The list of accepted sample types is also available in the SeqMatic/extraction-services
Does SeqMatic accept RNA cells or tissue samples that are stored in other than Frozen or RNALater preservation solution?
No. The SeqMatic laboratory only accepts samples that are flash frozen or stored in RNALater.
Make sure to discuss your project with a SeqMatic scientist to determine the sample quantity required for processing.
